I am excited to announce that we have channeled our inner Stan Van Gundy and added 14 new names to our roster for the 2015-2016 season. I want to thank everyone who took the time to apply. I was blown away by how many applications we received, so I was unable to respond to everyone. I apologize if you never heard back from me.
Without further ado, below are the newest members of the DBB staff with a brief intro of each of them in their own words:
Lazarus Jackson (lazchance)
Hey everyone. I'm Laz. Originally from Detroit, now living in Raleigh, NC. I found DBB by lurking around Pistons blogs, and I like it here. Writers here are knowledgeable and agreeable, which is what attracted me here in the first place. I'm hopeful I can assist the writers that we have in creating higher-quality content. If you want to talk to me one-on-one about the Pistons on twitter, my handle is in my signature; I will talk your ear off if you let me.
Sean Wheeler (hypnowheel)
Sean Wheeler is a full-time clinical hypnotherapist in Atlanta, where his work includes helping professional and amateur athletes to improve focus and performance. He has a decade of experience in TV journalism (with CNN and Turner Sports), and a degree in Broadcast Journalism from "The U." When he's not chasing his 2-year-old around the house, he can be found kickboxing, krav maga'ing and editing super-cool highlight videos of the Pistons.
Christopher Daniels (Christopher Daniels)
I grew up in Detroit and have been a fan of the Pistons since the Bad Boys era. I'm here to bring my somewhat twisted sense of humor, irrationally big love for the Pistons, and professionally honed knowledge of Photoshop together into a force for good, especially on the inevitable dark days when we only win by a few points.
Justin Lambregtse (Justin Lambregtse)
I am currently studying a Sports Management major and Journalism minor at Central Michigan University. Writing is always something that I have had a passion for and something I really enjoy doing. I hope to improve on my abilities as a writer and improve on my basketball knowledge by writing for this great site.
Jordan Bellant (jdbell20)
Hey everyone, I'm Jordan and I'm very proud to be a member of the DBB Community. I'm a huge Detroit sports fan, and I also bleed maize and blue. When it comes to the Pistons, my passion is probably closer to an obsession. I don't miss a game and I can't wait to share my thoughts. (Ed. Note: Jordan will also be helping keep our podcast fresh!)
Ryan Mathews (slyry)
I'm Ryan Mathews, a student at Oakland University and lifelong resident of the great state of Meeeeechigan. The ceiling for my contributions to this site is something like '06 McDyess: reliable, effective, and integral to the greater success of all of the incredibly talented guys here at Detroit Bad Boys.
Kevin F. Sanders (kfsanders)
I represent the Pistons on the southwest side of the state in Kalamazoo where you can find me working on the campus of Western Michigan University. My wife and I are excitingly expecting the birth of our first child due later this month during the beginning of the 2015-2016 Season, A.K.A. The Turnaround Year. In SVG I trust.
Chuck Heidel (nickchuck)
Transplanted Michigander down in the Holy City--Charleston, SC, where professional basketball is not a thing... so just like Detroit for the last seven years.
Jacob Kuyvenhoven (Jacob Kuyvenhoven)
Jacob covered the Grand Rapids Drive during their inaugural season and now covers high school sports in rural Minnesota. He once had a conversation with Hasheem Thabeet about the U.S. special education system. (Ed. note: As such, among other things, Jacob will be helping us stay on top of what's going on with the Drive!)
Justin Parker (J Parker Pool)
Launched from the loving embrace of the mitten into the hot, fiery (Ja)pan, I spend my days fulfilling my hegemonic duty of inculcating students with American language and culture while taking graduate Applied Linguistics courses online to aid said hegemonic warfare. Although these days I spend more time in Kobe the city than watching Kobe the player, I grew up with a SportsCenter IV perpetually affixed to my vein and the Newspaper perpetually opened to the Detroit sports section. When the autumn wind blows and I hear the faint sound of the rustling of arm hairs, I look down and can still make out the fading newspaper ink of statistics long forgotten.
Michael Snyder (Mophatt1)
Lifelong Metro Detroiter who watches more basketball than he cares to admit. But I mean, ball is life...right? Anyone can be a Laker fan, it takes a certain breed to root for the Pistons. I'm all in.
Jamie Delaney (Jamie_Delancey)
I take the Pistons & playlists too seriously.
Ryan Provato (Prava88)
Ryan is a University of Michigan grad currently living in Beijing as a talent recruiter. His favorite Piston of all time is Big Ben, with Jon Barry and Corliss Williamson coming in just behind.
David Fernandez (ferna1da)
Well rounded hoop-head. Pick and roll enthusiast. Living in the enemy's territory (Boston).
