Kentavious Caldwell-Pope suffers lower leg strain, x-rays negative

The Pistons' loss to the Hawks thankfully didn't snowball into anything worse.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has a lower leg strain. The good news is his x-rays came back negative.

KCP didn't play a minute of the fourth quarter in Wednesday's loss to Atlanta, and was seen on the bench with his leg wrapped. Fortunately, the Pistons were able to avoid another blow to their backcourt, with Brandon Jennings still in the process of recovering from his Achilles injury and Jodie Meeks still out because of his Jones fracture.

Stan Van Gundy said that they could have brought KCP back into the game, but there was some swelling and they didn't want to risk it.

The Pistons don't play until Saturday's home game against Boston. Hopefully KCP will be fully recovered from his strain by then.
