There's a lot of smoke surrounding the Detroit Pistons and their alleged pursuit of a backup point guard before today's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, but there might not be a flame. Stan Van Gundy poured water on the rumors today when speaking to reporters, denying the team has talked about acquiring Miami Heat's Norris Cole or Brooklyn Nets' Jarrett Jack:
SVG on revisiting talks for Cole or Jack: "Revisited? No not really, we haven't talked about either of those guys today."— Jake Chapman (@JakePistons) February 19, 2015
#Pistons not moving on either Cole or Jack today, SVG says.— David Mayo (@David_Mayo) February 19, 2015

Things change fast on deadline day, so perhaps we'll see a surprise move develop in the final 40 minutes before the deadline. For what it's worth, trades must be submitted to the league by 3 p.m., but it's possible they may not be processed or announced until shortly thereafter. So we all have at least another hour of refreshing Twitter.
Now your thoughts.
