Stan Van Gundy is so excited to play Reggie Jackson

If you were disappointed to learn that Reggie Jackson wasn't going to be able to play on Friday night against the Bulls because of physicals and damn trade rules, you weren't the only one. Stan Van Gundy's anxious to see Jackson play, too. In fact, if it weren't for a 6:30 p.m. ET cutoff, he was ready to insert Jackson into the game the second the trade officially cleared.

Here's why SVG's excited to get Jackson rolling:

"He's got great confidence," Van Gundy said. "I think he thinks he's as good as anyone. You've got to believe that and I think that's why even two years ago, when he was only 22, he was playing well in playoff games. He's got great ability and he's got great faith in that ability and you've got to have that. I think he knows he belongs and so do we. That's why we're excited about the move."

Van Gundy said after the win against the Bulls that although the team has an early game on Sunday vs. Washington, Jackson will get in work with his new teammates on Saturday.
