Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat GameThread

Talk about this battle of lower Eastern powers here.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The Pistons face the Miami Heat as the race for a lower Eastern Conference seed heats up. The Pistons are currently 10th in the East, 3 games back from the 8th seeded Charlotte Hornets who are currently without injured PG Kemba Walker for an extended period of time. The Heat are a half game ahead of Charlotte in 7th, but have been without the services of Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng recently, although Deng will return tonight and start, but possibly be on a minutes restriction. Hassan Whiteside has lit the league up during his crusade to improve his 2K rating, and it will be an interesting matchup between two dominant rebounders in Whiteside and Andre Drummond. Greg Monroe may have his hands full to guard Chris Bosh who can stretch the defence.

If the Pistons are serious about a playoff push, these are the sorts of games that need to be won, as a loss will result in lost ground on the teams above.
