The Pistons have a bit of good and bad news leading up to their Tuesday tilt with the Memphis Grizzlies -- Andre Drummond (concussion) will play and, in a bit of surprising news, Greg Monroe will not.
Monroe's injury was announced by the Pistons on Tuesday morning:
Forward/center Greg Monroe will miss tonight's game vs. Memphis with a right knee strain. The injury occurred during Monday's practice and was confirmed following an MRI exam.
Monroe will be re-evaluated on Wednesday to determine his status for Detroit's game at Philadelphia.
It's too bad we will not get to see the impending free agent play, as his days in a Pistons uniform may be dwindling, but better to error on the side of caution here.
Drummond was concussed in the Jazz game, limiting him to only 11 minutes of action. Despite this being his second concussion on record, he passed post-concussion protocol on Monday.
In other injury news, Tayshaun Prince (hip) is also expected to play.
