2015 NBA offseason important dates and events

New, comments

Get your calendars out, this is important.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

With the Detroit Pistons now done for the season thanks to their 32-50 record, sights now shift to bigger pictures at hand.  There are a number of key questions for Executive Stan and his staff of yes men, such as draft needs and retainment of important pieces.

To keep the good folk at DBB informed, here is when all the important events of the NBA offseason take place:

April 18 - NBA playoffs begin

April 26 - NBA Draft Early Entry Eligibility Deadline (11:59 p.m. ET)

May 12-17 - NBA Draft Combine

May 19 - Cleveland No. 1 Pick Press Conference NBA Draft Lottery

June 4 - NBA finals

June 15 - NBA Draft Early Entry Withdrawal Deadline (5 p.m. ET)

June 25 - 2015 NBA Draft

July 1 - Moose re-signs NBA Free Agency begins (12 a.m. ET)

July 8 - Moratorium lifts*

July 10 or so - NBA summer league (Orlando)

* The moratorium is a period at the start of free agency where teams can begin negotiating with players, but are forbidden from commenting on deals directly to the media or actually signing the contracts until the moratorium period has been lifted.

What say you DBB? Are you ready for the offseason festivities to begin?
