The Pistons started the season 5-23, because Josh Smith, so it's kind of remarkable that they finished the season with 32 wins. That means they finished the season playing .500 or playoff-like basketball, going 27-27 in the 54 games after Smith was waived. It's even more remarkable when you consider the turnover the roster experienced in waves throughout the season as a result of major injury (Brandon Jennings) and trade (Reggie Jackson).
We'll have more on the season's ups and downs and huhs, but at this time I want to share the infographic DBB reader intrepidacious put together in the FanPosts:
This just about covers everything in one graphic. There were also 11 games Greg Monroe missed in those last 20 games due to injury. The Pistons went 7-4 in those games. They were 2-3 when he came back. Who knows what they could be with a full season? We may never know.
More in a minute.
Now your thoughts.
