The Detroit Pistons had less than a three-percent chance to win the No. 1 overall pick and right around 10 percent to move into the Top 3. Unfortunately, the Pistons will pick where they were slotted before the night began at No. 8 overall.
The Pistons haven't moved up from their pre-draft lottery slot since 2003, when they were slotted at No. 6 and wound up with the No. 2 pick. We all know how that went down -- the Pistons had a chance to get better and they did not.
As Steve pointed out earlier Tuesday, one of Stanley Johnson, Kristaps Porzingis, Mario Hezonja, and/or Frank Kaminsky should be around for the taking when it's Stan Van Gundy and Jeff Bower's turn to make their first first-round draft pick as members of the Pistons' organization (remember the Pistons lost their first rounder last year as part of that ill-fated Ben Gordon trade in 2012.)
Now your thoughts.
Top 14 picks are below:
8. Detroit Pistons
10. Miami Heat
11. Indiana Pacers
12. Utah Jazz
13. Phoenix Suns
