2015 NBA free agency: Danny Green spurns Pistons, re-signs with Spurs

Pistons miss out on their top target.

Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports

Despite heavy interest from the Detroit Pistons and other teams, free agent swingman Danny Green has reached an agreement to re-sign with the San  Antonio Spurs. Green will sign a four-year, $45 million deal to remain in black and silver, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Green was Pistons head honcho Stan Van Gundy's primary target in free agency. He was the first meeting the team set up with an outside free agent and there had been indications for weeks that the sharshooter topped the team's wishlist.

Now he's gone.

Van Gundy will have to move onto a plan B and hope it works out because quite a few plan Cs are already off the board.

That Plan B might be the Hawks DeMarre Carrol, or it could be young Magic forward Tobias Harris.

But lower-cost options such as Mike Dunleavy (re-signed with the Bulls), Jared Dudley and Luol Deng (picked up player options with Bucks, Heat, respectively) are off the board.
