Pistons reportedly to sign Jordan Bachynski to non-guaranteed deal

Detroit adds another big player for the preseason.

Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, who has become the go-to guy for all of the lower-level signings, reported today that Jordan Bachynski will sign with the Pistons.

The Pistons were rumored to be in the running for big man Eric Moreland, who eventually signed with the Sacramento Kings instead. Presumably, Bachynski is the fallback option.

With also signing Eric Griffin, the Pistons are starting to push the ceiling of 20 roster spots heading into camp.

Bachynski is a big shot blocker, checking in at 7'2 and 265 pounds. He was older for a rookie last season as he just turned 26 years old. He spent the season in the D-League, appearing in 18 games and averaging 6.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 18.6 minutes per game. Not bad.

He came from Calgary, Alberta before spending four years as a key contributor at Arizona State. BLOCKchynski, as he goes by on Twitter, set the Pac-12 Conference record for career blocked shots, led the country in blocks in 2014, and was the conference defensive player of the year that season.
