Detroit had been linked to the sophomore earlier in the week, with all indications pointing toward Motown signing the forward to a non-guaranteed training camp deal. However, it seems Sacramento put together an offer too good to refuse for the second-year man out of Oregon State. The Pistons' front office may have foreseen the move, which could explain their interest in signing former Dallas Maverick Eric Griffin, who has a similar skill-set to Moreland.
With the expected addition of Griffin, Stan Van Gundy will have 18 players to choose from to solidify his opening night roster. Griffin will most likely be battling with Reggie Bullock, Danny Granger, Adonis Thomas and Cartier Martin for a spot on the team. Stay tuned for more training camp news as the team continues to be active during the offseason.
