A night after beating the Houston Rockets 123-114, the Detroit Pistons flew into New Orleans and played like Sunday morning stink on Bourbon Street. Stan Van Gundy and Brandon Jennings held nothing back in their post-game interviews following the 115-99 loss.
The Detroit News' Rod Beard with all of the fire emojis:
#Pistons SVG on 115-99 loss to #Pelicans: "It was deplorable – it really was." #Emphasis

SVG: In 1H, we played 9 guys and 1 guy (Baynes) put out a good effort. The other 8 guys put virtually nothing into it – on anything.
— Rod Beard (@detnewsRodBeard) January 22, 2016
#Pistons SVG: "I don’t buy that young-team crap. You’ve been playing basketball since you were 8."
— Rod Beard (@detnewsRodBeard) January 22, 2016
#Pistons SVG: "You’ve been playing basketball your whole life; how about every time you step on the floor, you play as hard as you can."
— Rod Beard (@detnewsRodBeard) January 22, 2016
UPDATE: Here's video of SVG's post-game presser, which comes off as nonchalant as can be given the quotes above (h/t Feez_22 in the comments):
Brandon Jennings called it a leadership problem, not an effort one:
#Pistons Brandon Jennings on what needs to happen: "We need a leader in this locker room -- that's the first thing."
— Rod Beard (@detnewsRodBeard) January 22, 2016
#Pistons Jennings: "That’s just being 100 – there’s no leader in this locker room...We do a lot of talking but there’s not a lot of doing."
— Rod Beard (@detnewsRodBeard) January 22, 2016
#Pistons Jennings: "Nobody has (stepped up) yet -- not that I’ve seen. We’ll say things here and there but mostly it’s just coach talking."
— Rod Beard (@detnewsRodBeard) January 22, 2016
#Pistons Jennings: "Great teams in this league have confrontation; guys get into it and tell them how we feel -- we don’t have any of that."
