Aron Baynes and Jon Leuer will get the chance to start, as regulars Andre Drummond and Marcus Morris will miss Thursday night’s preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks.
.@AndreDrummondd (illness), @MookMorris2 (mild knee tendinitis) out tonight for #Pistons at ATL. @aronbaynes, @JonLeuer30 to start.

Neither player’s listing on the injury report is likely a big deal. While “knee tendinitis” looks scary next to Marcus Morris’ name considering it’s causing a long absence for starting point guard Reggie Jackson, it’s usually not something that’s going to cause an extended absence.
Some knee pain has been lingering a bit throughout training camp, as Morris has missed a few practices due to the tendinitis as well as a dislocated finger.
Baynes and Leuer in the starting lineup means Tobias Harris will slide from his usual power forward spot to small forward. One other big change will be the likelihood of more Boban Marjanovic. Boban didn’t see the floor last game after playing the second half backup center minutes in the first preseason game.
One other name to expect to see fill some of the minutes available in Dre and Mook’s absence is Michael Gbinije. “Silent G” was singled out by Stan Van Gundy as the best wing of the week in practice. If he gets on the floor, it’ll be his first minutes of the preseason.
