Game Information
You can calm down people, the Pistons finally won a game in the preseason. I always take preseason results with a grain of salt, no matter how bad the team has looked. In the first two and a half preseason games, the Pistons have not looked good. They are trying to integrate a new starting point guard while still evaluating potential rotation players.
The Pistons are coming off a win against the Hawks in which they were playing without three starters. You could definitely tell in the beginning, as they were down 33-19 after the 1st quarter. Things got better in the second half when the team was led by the efforts of Tobias Harris, Aron Baynes and Ish Smith.
Now the team heads to Philadelphia to face a lowly Philadelphia team that is missing their most exciting player in top pick, Ben Simmons. He was a reason to watch this game, and there really isn’t much else to watch on Philly’s end now. They have Joel Embiid finally playing, so I guess that is cool.
As for the Pistons, Ish Smith is facing his former team in which he put up solid numbers starting for them last season. Marcus Morris is out once again to rest his knee. Andre Drummond may play according to Keith Langlois. He went through a full practice and it ultimately depends on how he feels.
There is not a whole lot to get excited about for a preseason game in Philadelphia, but it will be interesting to see how Ish Smith fares against his old team.
