76 points, 37 percent shooting, 3-20 from three point range. That’ll do it for the Detroit Pistons win.
It also helped that Detroit held a 44-31 rebounding edge to pull off the 97-76 victory.
Tobias Harris led the way for the Pistons with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Andre Drummond also offered 10 points, 13 rebounds. He helped welcome rookie Joel Embiid to the league as the two had a few physical moments.
Ish Smith had another good night, offering up 10 points on 56 percent shooting, three rebounds, and six assists with no turnovers. He had the team’s best +/- once again at 27.
Detroit saw a bit more out of the back end of the roster, with all of Henry Ellenson, Boban Marjanovic, Darrun Hilliard, and Michael Gbinije seeing extended minutes.
Boban continues to look tantalizing but turnover prone. Hilliard perhaps played the best of the three, continuing to fight for potential minutes on the wing.
Ellenson had his best performance of the preseason, knocking down two three point shots and finishing with a +/- of 20. He got the start in place of Marcus Morris and made the most of it.
Next game will be Monday back at the Palace against the Milwaukee Bucks.
