Pistons vs. Thunder: Andre Drummond doubtful with sprained ankle

New, comments

The Pistons will likely be without their All Star center when the take on the Oklahoma City Thunder

Andre Drummond is doubtful in tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with an ankle injury, according to Keith Langlois.

There’s no word yet on how Andre Drummond suffered the injury. Hopefully it is not too severe of an ankle sprain because that is an injury that can linger. With Reggie Jackson still out, the Pistons cannot afford to lose another starter for a long period of time.

Aron Baynes will likely get the start if Andre Drummond does not play. It could be a tough game now with the Thunder able to employ their “ultra-big” lineup with Steven Adams and Enes Kanter. The Pistons could have countered with Baynes and Drummond, but they will likely not have that luxury now.

We could get our first lengthy look at Boban Marjanovic now. The 7’3 free agent addition from the Spurs has not seen the court much this year. I do not see any way that him and Baynes could play together to counter the Thunder’s big lineup thanks to the lumbering nature of the two bigs, so you will likely see a lot more of Jon Leuer tonight as well if Drummond is held out.

What are your thoughts DBB? How concerned are you about this injury for Andre Drummond or do you need some more information before hitting the panic button?
