If the past eight games are an indication, the bright side of tonight is that Detroit will win tomorrow.
The Pistons have been the definition of a .500 team since the calendar hit December, alternating wins and losses. Well they won in Dallas, so they lost in D.C.
Is it just me, or does it seem weird that the District of Columbia is a place? Am I just stalling from writing about this game? Yes. Yes, I am. Here’s a video of a pup named Wago. Clutch name.
Well, I suppose I should discuss the basketball game. There were two big themes. Fouls on the Pistons and hot streaks by the Wizards.
Andre Drummond hit foul trouble early. Aron Baynes quickly followed him. Reggie Jackson also ran into it.
For the Wiz, John Wall got hot in the first, Bradley Beal in the second, and Markieff Morris in the third. Washington went into triple digits with 10:42 left in the game. Barf.
Y’all, this gif kinda explains the way tonight’s game went.
Andre Drummond and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope did their best to keep their team in it. Drummond was an effective form of aggressive in the first half, even holding his own when Scottie Brooks chose to put him at the line.
KCP, damn, y’all. He did his best to put the team on his shoulders, but those shoulders are still just a bit too narrow. He finished with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris had combined for 6-24. Ouch. Especially when you can’t stop the other team.
The Wizards shot 58 damn percent from the field including 48 damn percent from three. Damn.
No rest for the wicked, the Pistons are back at the Palace tomorrow hosting the Pacers.
ROLL CALL (sorry for the two tonight):
