While I might have jumped the gun slightly in proclaiming that Spencer Dinwiddie was healthy and returning to the lineup, I can say with confidence that rookie Stanley Johnson and power forward Anthony Tolliver are game-time decisions tonight against the Charlotte Hornets, according to Stan Van Gundy.
That information is courtesy of MLive's David Mayo, and was later confirmed by Keith Langlois via Twitter.
Both can be expected to rejoin the rotation, with Tolliver likely assuming the 14 minutes of backup power forward minutes that Marcus Morris has been holding down.
Things are little more complicated for Johnson. The rookie has been a terrific competitor and committed defender for the Pistons during his first year, but his offense, especially his jump shot, is still a work in progress.
Johnson will completely displace fellow rookie Darrun Hilliard out of the rotation, and likely pushes Reggie Bullock into a more marginal role.
Unfortunately, the Pistons will also lose quite a bit of shooting in the process, as Hilliard is connecting on 36 percent of threes in the past eight games while Bullock is hitting an insane 58 percent. Johnson, meanwhile, is connecting on just 32 percent on the season.
