It feels sooooo good to not be looking forward to this night, although it would be cooler if we were currently in the Raptors' shoes -- playing and in the lottery. But it's no small feat that as a result of making the playoffs for the first time in seven years, the NBA draft lottery will not include the Pistons.
That said, it's still loosely applicable as the order and draft results could affect the Pistons' established pick at No. 18 overall, and even No. 49 overall.
Everything you need to know:
The Pistons won a tiebreaker with Portland (whose pick is going to Denver). Detroit will pick No. 18 overall.
The NBA draft lottery is Tues., May 17 at 8 p.m. ET, prior to the start of Game 1 of the Eastern conference finals between the Cavs and Raptors.
You can watch the NBA draft lottery on ESPN or stream it online at WatchESPN.
