2016 NBA draft: Pistons to formally introduce picks on Friday

New, comments

Henry Ellenson and Michael Gbinije will meet the press the day after being drafted by the Detroit Pistons.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

No waiting until next week. The Pistons announced in a press release very early Friday morning that they will introduce their 2016 NBA draft picks on Friday, June 24 around 1 p.m. ET. I imagine this will be streamed, so we'll add a link as soon as one's available.

WHO: Detroit Pistons. Well Henry Ellenson (18) and Michael Gbinije (49), first and foremost, and then Stan Van Gundy and Jeff Bower will be there, too.

WHAT: Press Conference. This is that thing where they get behind a mic and answer questions about how hard they're going to work and how excited they are to be in Motown playing for Stan Van Gundy and for a committed owner like Tom Gores. We'll also find out what numbers they will wear. Van Gundy and Bower will also answer questions about how they got their guys and reiterate again that this will not change their plans for free agency.

WHERE: Pistons Practice Facility. It's next to The Palace.

WHEN: Friday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations & Head Coach Stan Van Gundy and General Manager Jeff Bower will introduce 2016 NBA Draft picks, Henry Ellenson and Michael Gbinije. All will be available for comments.
