Michael Gbinije's plans to participate in Summer League is causing a bit of a stir with the Nigerian Olympic team, as they would rather the Syracuse product avoid playing prior to the Olympics.
Per Stan Van Gundy via David Mayo at MLIVE:
"They don't want him to come play summer league," Van Gundy said. "I would love for him to play in the Olympics. I think it's great. But let's find some common ground. We're not trying to keep him from it. But can we have our 12 days?"
Van Gundy is confident it will get worked out.
"I think so because I think they need him," he deadpanned.
Can't argue with that logic!
The Pistons Summer League roster is reportedly finalized. Gbinije will be running a lot of point to hopefully secure the backup to the backup spot on the depth chart behind Reggie Jackson.
Now your thoughts.
