NBA Free Agency 2016: Open Thread

Let's digest the madness together as it occurs.

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Ok, free agency is about to begin. You've read all the reports and seen all the cap figures. You probably know the players contracts better than the players at this point. Now is the time to watch everything you love crash and burn to the ground as the Pistons inevitably sign Moe Harkless to a four-year max contract.

Early deals on July 1 are usually very hard to come by, and usually are more likely to be either extensions agreed to by third-year players (like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope being eligible this offseason), or restricted free agents agreeing to terms with their teams. Very rarely do notable free agents sign early in free agency. The biggest news in the early hours last year was the signing of Al-Farouq Aminu.

The Pistons have been linked with a plethora of players this offseason. Who do you want them to sign? Al Horford? Matthew Dellavedova? Jeremy Lin? Moe Harkless? Ben Quagliata? Discuss below, and watch the madness unfold.

DBB Free Agency Drinking Game

While I have your attention, if you are using spooky juices, adult potions or libations to help your motivation tonight, I propose a little drinking game.

1 shot

- Meeting "went well"

- Pretty much a "done deal"

- Schedules a meeting with [insert team here]

2 shots

- Airport photos

- House lockdown tweets

- Lakers/Knicks try to secure meeting with [insert any top 10 FA here]

3 shots

- Woj Bomb

- Pistons sign anyone not named Andre Drummond

Have fun everyone, and drink responsibly, but within the rules of the game.
