The Little Caesars era for the Detroit Pistons begins Wednesday night when they face off against the Charlotte Hornets at 7 p.m.
The Pistons, however, are christening their new arena in style with several musical acts before and during the game for fans to enjoy including Skylar Grey, Manny Torres and Dej Loaf, the team announced.
Fans in attendance will also receive a free commemorative T-shirt as well as a interactive commemorative bracelet that will turn the “crowd into a canvas” with each braclet serving as a pixel of a larger image.
Grey, a five-time Grammy nominee will perform at halftime along with members of the Detroit Friends Vocal Ensemble Choir.
Performing before the game will be Michigan native and American Idol contestant Manny Torres, who will perform outside the arena at 6 p.m. Torres will also sing the national anthem prior to the game.
The interactive LED bracelet is designed to make the fans a part of welcoming the Detroit Pistons during pregame and also be a part of halftime. Each bracelet becomes a pixel, creating an arena-sized canvas. Each will be commemoratively engraved and fans are asked to be in their seats promptly at 7 p.m. with their bracelet attached to their wrist.
Festivities begin around LCA at 3 p.m. with access to beverage carts, Pistons entertainment performances, basketball shooting and corn hole, face-painting and more. The actual arena opens at 5:30 p.m.
