Pistons vs. Hornets preview: Pistons kick off Little Caesars Arena era in preseason opener

Welcome back, basketball.

NBA: Detroit Pistons at Charlotte Hornets Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The dog days of the offseason are officially over. Rather than speculating about Reggie Jackson’s health or Andre Drummond’s defense, we’ll actually be able to see it for ourselves with some real basketball.

The Pistons will tip off for the first time in Little Caesars Arena against the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets dropped their first preseason game against the Boston Celtics, thanks to a lousy offensive performance.

Each team will has new additions to their offensive lineup. It’ll be Detroit’s first look at Avery Bradley as their starting shooting guard. Charlotte’s new center Dwight Howard struggled in his first appearance in a Hornets jersey, shooting 2-6 from the field, 3-8 from the stripe, and committing six turnovers.

Still no update on Reggie Jackson’s injury status for the game after he left practice with a sore right adductor.
