There is beating teams, there is putting a nail in the coffin and then there is what Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond teamed up to do at the end of Detroit’s 114-97 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
Up 109-95 with just over a minute to go and the game decided, Jackson decided he had one more highlight play in his bag of tricks.
Both teams still had starters on the floor and Jackson and Drummond put Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner into a simple pick-and-roll at the top of the key.
Oladipo got completely turned around a stumbled leaving a wide open lane for Andre. Cory Joseph decided against providing any sort of help whatsoever.
Meanwhile, Turner was so afraid of Jackson’s driving ability he started backpedalling toward the basket.
So Jackson decided to casually pass the ball between his legs to a streaking Drummond at the top of the key. Drummond gobbled up the ball and feasted at the rim.
