NBA free agency begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern on July 1, but the Pistons probably won’t give you much reason to stay up late tonight. They’re operating with little cap space, but still have big decisions to make.
You might have heard: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is up for a raise this summer. That might move quickly with rumbles of the Brooklyn Nets looking to use their cap space aggressively and KCP as a potential target of theirs. Or it might move slowly. As Hypnowheel pointed out, his agents have a history of dragging out contract negotiations.
For insights into the Pistons’ cap situation, check out the nice work done by Lazarus Jackson and Ben Quagliata. For more reading from around the league, check out SB Nation’s free agency section.
Of course, DBB will have updates on any free agency moves involving the Pistons but this can work as your thread to talk about all things Pistons free agency and the other shenanigans around the league.
