This is the first season that the NBA is selling sponsorship on the players’ jerseys themselves. Color me unimpressed.
I’m sure Detroit got the best deal they could, and more power to them, but I was at least hoping that the ads would: 1. Be well integrated into the jersey themselves and 2. Play into the theme of Detroit as the Motor City or some connection to the auto industry that so defines Detroit.
Ahh well ....
