NBA trade rumors: Andre Drummond acknowledges trade talk

A year after signing a maximum contract, Drummond’s status with the franchise is much less certain

Andre Drummond kept his comments brief and to the point to TMZ, but he sounded like he realized his status as franchise centerpiece isn’t quite as firm these days as it has been in the past.

“I play for Detroit now, so we’ll keep it at that,” Drummond said in response to TMZ about being part of a blockbuster trade. “Anything is possible in this league.”

Drummond also retweeted TMZ about the post:

Does that mean Drummond’s more likely than we previously thought? Has Stan Van Gundy been letting Drummond know he’s been involved in trade talks? Who knows.

But it’s at least realistic take from Dre, who has at times had a tendency to step away from reality like earlier this summer when he said he was still an elite center and All Star last season.
