Orlando Summer League: Pistons vs. Heat game thread

Ellenson and Kennard look to keep the shots falling

NBA: Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Pistons face the Miami Heat in the Orlando Summer League at 5 p.m. EST. The game will be on NBA TV or can be streamed on the Watch ESPN app.

The Pistons are 1-1 while the Miami Heat are 0-3. The Pistons are led by rookie Luke Kennard and second-year pro Henry Ellenson.

Ellenson is averaging 17.5 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Kennard is averaging 15 points, three assists and 1.5 steals.

Also playing well is Eric Moreland, who has eight blocks in two games and is fighting to earn a roster spot in the NBA, including with the Pistons, who are searching for a third center.

The Heat are led by rookie Bam Adebayo who is averaging 19 points 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. He hasn’t been shy, either, hoisting 44 shots and shooting 40 percent from the floor.

It’s also the Fourth of July so consider this the Independence Day open thread, Pistons game thread, free agency rumor mill round up open thread, etc.

Enjoy the day, y’all.
