Detroit Pistons will be without their star as Andre Drummond has been ruled out of tonight’s game against the Miami Heat with a rib contusion. The team did not announce the decision until about 30 minutes before game time.
Little-used center Boban Marjanovic will start in place of Drummond.
The surprise injury comes just as the Pistons were set to welcome back Avery Bradley who has missed several games with a groin injury. Detroit is also without rotation mainstay Stanley Johnson who has struggled with back and hip flexor issues for several weeks and has been in and out of the lineup.
Marjnovic has only played double digit minutes three times this season with a season high 14:19 minutes Dec. 20 against the Dallas Mavericks.
