Andre Drummond did a little bit of everything for the Detroit Pistons in their 103-100 opening-night win over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday at Little Caesars Arena. The big man had 24 points and 20 rebounds. He hit three of his four free throws. He played unwatchable defense and some game-saving defense. Add two assists and a block.
Oh yeah, and Drummond hit a 28-foot 3-pointer from the top of the key with 13 seconds on the shot clock.
That’s right, Andre Drummond is a 3-point shooter now. We are all Luke Kennard (though some of us are more scared than others).
For the night, Drummond was 1-of-3 on 3-pointers and had a few other horrendous and ill-advised jumpers. So let’s not get ahead of ourselves. But, yeah, this is the NBA of 2018 and an officially sanctioned shot of Pistons coach Dwane Casey’s shot matrix.
Strap yourself in, folks, it’s going to be a wild season. What do you think he can do for an encore against the Bulls?
