As Anthony Tolliver rose for yet another dunk, it occurred to me. Boy, Anthony Tolliver sure has been dunking a lot lately.
It started against Portland:
That dunk inspired the reaction gif of the season:

But Tolliver wasn’t done.
Against Portland, he got another great reaction out of Blake.
His next one may not end up on any highlight reels, but it’s still important for a reason I’ll get to in a minute.
But last night confirmed: we’ve entered a new Tolliverse.
Welcome to the Blake Griffin Tolliverse. In this Tolliverse, Anthony Tolliver is apparently a slam dunker. Four dunks over five games, that’s a bit of an increase in pace from the five dunks he had in the previous 46 games. Last year he had just 11 all season. The year before that it was six. Four dunks in five games is definitely a trip through a wormhole, or in this case, a new Tolliverse.
In fact, Tolliver has more dunks since the Griffin trade than the former Slam Dunk Champion. So I think that officially makes Anthony Tolliver the new Slam Dunk Champion. Give him the crown.
I, for one, am totally in on this Tolliverse. After all, following the words of wise Canadian Garrett Elliott, we like slam dunk shots.
