Pistons vs. Hawks final score: Thanks for being really bad, Pistons beat Hawks 104-98

This was less of a Pistons win, more of a “Hawks don’t have anyone who can score” situation.

NBA: Detroit Pistons at Atlanta Hawks Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Hawks were without Dennis Schroder, Kent Bazemore, Ersan Ilyasova, and Tyler Cavanaugh. That’s 60 percent of their starting lineup and some guy I’ve never heard of.

As Laz said during the preview, this game was in “‘The Pistons BETTER win’ territory.”

The Hawks made sure they did. Man, they were bad. The Pistons weren’t particularly good, but it wasn’t going to take much to be “good enough” tonight. The fact that it ended up relatively close, ugh.

On the bright side, getting a win was at least a nice palate cleanser before heading into the All Star break. On the less bright side, if you actually saw this game, it likely means you didn’t have a Valentine’s Day date AND had to suffer through watching it. I’m sorry. Things will get better.

Ish Smith was pretty good. Stanley Johnson continues to be solid. Jameer Nelson’s body type is Khalid El-Amin. Prava88 will get you the details later. And we’ll keep the content coming over the ASB so keep hanging out at DBB.
