Quincy Acy received a $25,000 fine, which makes sense because he was the one who initiated the altercation. While these fines are not going to be extremely damaging to either player’s checkbook, it is not surprising that the league handed out some kind of punishment.
Drummond’s $15,000 fine represents 0.10 percent of his $23.7 million salary. Acy, meanwhile, will hand over 0.88 percent of his $1.7 million deal.
It is a good thing that Drummond did not receive a suspension for the altercation. The Pistons face the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday and are four games out of the playoffs with only five games left. Every game counts if the Pistons want to keep their infinitesimal playoff chances alive.
