The Guaransheed

I'm curious, does anyone else play the Guaransheed game?

I don't think I will bother going into where the Guaransheed comes from- something that stands so large in Pistons lore hopefully needs no explanation.

The Guaransheed game that my friends and I play involves Sheed-like confidence. Whenever you are incredibly confident of something, Liverpool winning the Prem this year (ha), a perfect score on a test, a 30 on the ACT, a 170 on the LSAT, nailing a job interview, you drop a Guaransheed on it. I'm guilty of having lost many a Guaransheed due to our Pistons these past few years (ohhh the hope prior to 16-17).... The point is, you only use it when you are incredibly confident of something, and when that something is unlikely, important, or when someone Guaransheed's the other way. What happens if your Guaransheed is wrong? You lose you Guaransheeding privileges for the year, your loss is added to the tally, and you take all of the shit that goes along with a failed Guaransheed. Remember, when you drop a Guaransheed, you channel Sheed, and a Guaransheed from Sheed is as good as the word of God. To fail a Guaransheed then is... When you are right, you keep your Guaransheed, and your win gets added to the tally. No one among my friends actually remembers when we started this game, though our tally goes back about nine years.

After reading all of the Kool-aide-stand pieces, I found myself buzzing on that sweet drink. So, I thought I would drop some Guaransheed's on this season. Now the rules state you can only have one active Guaransheed at a time, so I will treat all of these predictions as a single Guaransheed, meaning that if one of these is incorrect, the whole Guaransheed is wrong, and I have failed Sheed.

So, I, PistonCynicisim,

GUARANSHEED THAT:

1. The Pistons will have the 5th seed in the playoffs, or better.

2. Blake Griffin plays at least 70 games, and has a legit argument to be involved in the MVP discussion (he plays for the Pistons so... he probably won't be involved even though he should be).

3. Andre Drummond increases his FT% another 5 percent from last season.

4. Both Dre and Blake represent the Pistons as All-Stars, and they mesh better than anyone could possibly imagine during the season.

5. Either Reggie Jackson or Ish Smith will be traded by the trade deadline.

and finally,

6. The Detroit Pistons make it to, at least, the second round of the playoffs.

Anyone else got the stuff to drop some Guaransheeds?
