When you lose to the Detroit Pistons you start punching each other, apparently

The Memphis Grizzlies had a feisty team meeting after falling to Pistons on Wednesday

Every team in the NBA drops a game here or there, but when you lose to the Detroit Pistons in embarrassing fashion at home when the Pistons are on the second end of a back to back ... well, all hell is prone to break lose.

Losing to the Pistons was apparently so embarrassing to the Memphis Grizzlies that they were forced to have a team meeting after the loss and, even worse, following the meeting Omri Casspi and Garrett Temple got into a physical altercation, according to several media reports.

This is what losing to the Detroit Pistons can do to a team.

Bickerstaff did not address the fight when he spoke to the media roughly 30 minutes after the game (news of the altercation hadn’t leaked yet, and I’m not sure he was even aware it occurred), but he did talk about the team’s meeting. He talked about the team “addressing larger issues.”

Marc Gasol also spoke about the team’s heart-to-heart:

“We were openly sharing our thoughts and trying to fix the situation and getting back into being a really good basketball team together and doing the things we need to do consistently to win games,” center Marc Gasol said.

The loss was Memphis’ eighth in its past 10 games, and the team sits below .500 after a promising start to the season.

Sound familiar?

If they’re looking for a shakeup and really need to unload either Temple or Casspi, the Pistons are looking for help on the wing.

Just saying.
