The Detroit Pistons finally managed to get a win, breaking a five-game losing streak and beating the Washington Wizards, 132-102. That also ends Detroit’s 0-8 streak this season against the Wizards, the Charlotte Hornets, and the Chicago Bulls. Christian Wood paced the Pistons with 22 points off the bench, and Tim Frazier, who got the start at point guard, added 17 points and six assists.

Analysis:

The season is (most likely) lost for the Pistons, but from an internal perspective, it’s beneficial for the team to not begin their six-game road trip on a six-game losing streak. Additionally, the Pistons’ young guys performed well tonight - we already discussed Wood, Bruce Brown Jr. returned from a calf injury to score 12 points with five assists off the bench, and Svi Mykhailiuk (who figures to get a lot more playing time, due to Luke Kennard’s injury) shot four-of-nine from downtown on his way to 12 points. The Pistons were winning so handily, we even got our first look at Two-Way player Louis King, who made his first NBA shot.

The Pistons begin their road trip Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs.
