The Detroit Pistons are coming off of a 30-point blowout of the Washington Wizards and looking to kick off a big six-game West coast swing the right way against the struggling San Antonio Spurs. Already this season, the Pistons bested the Spurs 132-98. San Antonio, without LaMarcus Aldridge or much in the way of size, couldn’t control Detroit on the boards and lost the rebound battle 50-31.
The star of the game was not Andre Drummond and his 16 rebounds, and Blake Griffin struggled with 4-of-12 shooting for just 10 points with two boards. No, the star was Christian Wood who played 22 minutes off the bench and scored 28 points and added 10 boards.
Detroit will be looking for an encore without Luke Kennard and Markieff Morris who scored 20 and 10 points, respectively, in the previous matchup against the Spurs.
