Third start the charm for Sekou as he faces King James

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Atlanta Hawks Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

It’s the French Prince versus The King tonight at Staples Center as the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the NBA’s best teams led by the NBA’s No. 1 talent of the past 15 years, faces the Detroit Pistons and 19-year-old rookie Sekou Doumbouya who is expected to make his third consecutive start.

Doumbouya is coming off two consecutive double doubles in his first two starts, a loss against the Clippers and a win against the Warriors. Saturday against Golden State he led the Pistons in minutes and scored 16 points (including four 3s) and 10 rebounds.

The french phenom has already proven himself one of Detroit’s best (read: only capable) rebounders behind Andre Drummond, and has been active and aggressive on both ends of the floor. His west coast trial by fire has seen him match up against Kawhi Leonard, Draymond Green and now LeBron James. Good luck, kid. Can’t wait to see what you can do.
