What do you know? It's the actual draft month of the 2020 NBA Draft! This has been quite the wait, but I for one am very excited to see what the Pistons do in this draft. It seems as if this is year 1 of FINALLY embracing a rebuild centered around youth, and if that is the case then I hope they swing a couple of trades for picks this year. I have said it a lot, but if you haven't heard me by now, this draft reminds me a lot of 2013's Draft where there was kind of a consensus on the top guys but everyone was calling this a "bad" draft and looking forward to the much hyped draft class coming after it. But 2013 produced a lot of productive players and some Greek kid named Giannis so I caution anyone who wants to dismiss this as being a bad draft too. You never know how much these guys can improve so why not keep those picks and take who you believe in. Especially for teams like Detroit who do not traditionally attract big name free agents, you gotta hold onto those draft picks to try and stock up as many swings as possible.
Now, with that said, I am posting my updated Big Board here which I feel has changed quite considerably as I've spent a ton of time watching game tape. I'll be posting individual thoughts on the players and I will TRY and get to all of them by draft night, but no promises. I am also interested to see big board from the DDB community here! Always love talking the draft and I hope I can tag in Scott, and Chaz, and Rev and some of y'all I know are high on certain guys when their names come up. So without further adieu...
