The short-handed Detroit Pistons competed hard against a talented Oklahoma City Thunder team but ultimately fell short. It was good to see Christian Wood shine in his newly anointed role as the starting center, and for many it was good to see the team notch another L in the standings as the team looks to rebuild and could use a little NBA Lottery luck in what is seen as a generally weak draft.
Tonight will be an even bigger test for the tanking crowd because the New York Knicks are no OKC Thunder, but they’re probably still better than the shell of the Pistons. Detroit will still be without Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose, Svi Mykhailiuk, Markieff Morris and Brandon Knight. John Henson is available, though, and could see some backup center minutes.
