The Detroit Pistons are done, but the second NBA season is finally here. The playoffs began today at 1:30 p.m. EST with an overtime thriller between the Utah Jazz and the Denver Nuggets. Donovan Mitchell, who has never been a topic of conversation on Detroit Bad Boys, went off for 57 points. Jamal Murray went nuclear in the fourth quarter and overtime to help the Nuggets pull out the victory 135-125. Murray had 36 points.

The second game was a largely forgettable affair, or at least it seemed like it to me as I only scoreboard watched. Future Piston Fred VanVleet led the Raptors in the 134-110 blowout of the overmatched Brooklyn Nets with 30 points including eight 3-pointers.

Right now, I’m watching the Al Horford-assaince as the Sixers look to upset the Boston Celtics. Still to come tonight is title contender LA Clippers against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. It’s truly a great day.

Consider this the playoffs open thread, and we’ll probably replace it with a new one at some point. How have you enjoyed the playoffs so far?
