Detroit Pistons fans more interested in draft picks than in the play on the floor face quite a conundrum tonight when the Pistons face the Toronto Raptors. Do you root for a loss from Detroit, which currently owns the second-worst record in the NBA, but needs all the extra cushion it can get in the NBA Lottery odds and among the NBA gods. Or do you root for the Raptors to lose, who are in a free fall and with Detroit owning the Raptors’ second-round pick?
The Pistons are already 2-0 against the Raptors this year, and Dwane Casey likely wants to sweep the season series against the team that fired him. The Raptors are in the easiest part of their schedule with winnable games such as those against the Pistons, Thunder, Wizards, Cavs, Magic, Thunder again and Cavs again between now and May 1. But it has gotten really ugly in Toronto with the Raptors dropping 13 of 15. I know Kyle Lowry is sticking around, but damn.
