It's that time of year again, as the NBA season draws to a close and we anxiously await the draft. There’s no better way to pass the time than the legendary mock offseason, the Ron Marshall Memorial Mock Draft.
Ron Marshall was a beloved member of the DBB community and was known for his incredibly elaborate trade proposals. During the first mock offseason, it was intended to be a normal mock draft but Ron pushed for trades to be allowed and the chaos birthed something special.
Unfortunately, Ron passed away in November of 2015. The RMMMD serves as a way to immortalize a great man and keep his spirit alive. This exercise would not exist if it wasn’t for him.
If you would like to participate, please comment down below something like "I’m in" so we can keep track. Teams will be randomly assigned. There will be spreadsheets provided that have all of the roster information and salaries to make everything easier. Once we fill up, we will run for about a week or so, with the draft being held on the following Saturday and Sunday.
There will be trade threads to negotiate in, a trade confirmation thread where you can post agreed upon trades so that we can make sure they are legal, a thread for declaring options and other roster moves, the draft will have two threads, and then free agency will also have a series of threads when we get to that point.
The more active you can be the better, but as long as you can check in occasionally during the trade period and can make it to the draft then you’ll be good. I also encourage sending a draft board to my email the night before the draft that I can use in case you are absent for a pick rather than using a different board to auto-pick from.
