Pistons visit St. Jude children's hospital in Memphis

Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond and other Pistons visited patients at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The Detroit Pistons are in Memphis facing the NBA-best Grizzlies but during their visit several players also made time to visit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Among the Pistons in attendance were Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond, Kyle Singler, Rodney Stuckey, Jason Maxiell, Austin Daye, Khris Middleton and Slava Kravtsov.

The team hosted a dinner at St. Jude Memphis Grizzlies House where they spent time with patients and their families, signed autographs and posed for pictures. Some players even sang Happy Birthday to one of St. Jude's patients.

Their visit was part of Hoops for St. Jude, a joint effort of the hospital and NBA Cares. the goal is to promote fundraising efforts and raise awareness for St. Jude, which helps kids battling cancer and other deadly diseases. At St. Jude, no family ever pays for the care their child receives, which means fundraising is vital and I am happy that a high-profile organization such as the NBA has become so involved.

Pictures of the event, courtesy of St. Jude, are below.
