Detroit Bad Boys - Pistons vs. Bucks: Detroit drops 7th straight, 104-88A community of Detroit Pistons fans since 2005https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/community_logos/48119/detroitbadboys-fave.png2014-11-29T00:05:03-05:00http://www.detroitbadboys.com/rss/stream/70681502014-11-29T00:05:03-05:002014-11-29T00:05:03-05:00Andre Drummond's 20-20 wasted in loss

Andre Drummond, again, was one of the lone highlights for the reeling Pistons.

Despite another Detroit Pistons loss, their seventh in a row and 10th in their last 11, Andre Drummond continued his rise back to dominance after a sluggish start to the season. Drummond was an absolute beast, putting up 26 points and snagging 20 rebounds in 38 minutes, recording the NBA's first 20-20 this season.

It was Drummond's fourth straight double-double and eighth of the season. The 26 points and 20 rebounds were season highs for him.

Drummond downplayed the big night after the game, stating that it's "empty, man" and that he could score 40 points and it wouldn't mean anything without a win.

Whether or not some of these big Drummond games will start coinciding with wins remains to be seen (obviously he's not the problem). Drummond has three 20-20s in his career and each was in a loss.

He's remaining positive, though.

"You always have to be positive. Nothing lasts like this for too long. It's going to turn around for us."

Do you believe him?

Now your positive Drummond thoughts!

Milwaukee's bench could not be matched.

The Pistons had a 29-25 lead after the first quarter, in which the starters played the majority of the time. (Andre Drummond played 7:25, but it wasn't a result of foul trouble; Stan Van Gundy likely removed him to keep him fresh so that he could match up with Larry Sanders, who did exit early with foul trouble.)

The second quarter was a different story, however. The Bucks outscored the Pistons 28-16 behind Jared Dudley's 11 points off the bench. That would be more than any of the Bucks' starters in the entire game. In the fourth quarter, Ersan Ilyasova would do the same thing -- outscore all of the starters -- in the first three and a half minutes!

The Bucks finished the game with four players in double figures, all of whom came off the bench. In total, the Bucks' bench outscored the Pistons' 69-13. That's 10 more points than the Pistons scored in the final three quarters altogether. All 13 Bucks three-pointers were hit by their bench players, not a single one of whom was shooting over 33 percent from there entering Friday night's game.

Following the game, Van Gundy was matter of fact. "They shot the hell out of the ball ... Once they went to the bench, we had no answers."

Van Gundy went into detail about the aforementioned numbers and grew terse, "We had no answers."

No answers and thus, no wins in seven games over two weeks.

And don't expect the answers to start coming until December. The 13-2 Golden State Warriors, who the Pistons haven't beaten in their last five tries, are in town on Sunday.

The Pistons collapsed after a strong first quarter.

The Pistons started off right. They scored 29 points in the first quarter on 53-percent shooting and led by four. They even went to Greg Monroe on the first offensive possession of the game.

The Pistons shot 39 percent and scored 59 points in the final three quarters. Greg Monroe took only three shots (!!!) in the game.

After managing to cut the game to four heading into the fourth, the Pistons were Ersan Ilyasova'd. The Turkish sharpshooter scored 10 of his 22 in the first three and a half minutes of the final quarter and the Pistons had no response.

The Pistons shot 26 percent on three pointers and missed 11 free throws (56 percent). The Pistons turned it over 14 times and Josh 'Don't Even Get Me Started' Smith had six of them.

Unfortunately, the blow out will overshadow another monster game from Andre Drummond, who had 26 points and 20 rebounds.

We'll have more on this game in a minute.

The Detroit Pistons have lost six straight games. Can they end this streak with a win against the Milwaukee Bucks at home Friday night?

Game Vitals

Where: The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan

When: 7:30 p.m. EST

Watch: Fox Sports Detroit

Analysis

The Milwaukee Bucks are fourth in the Eastern Conference.

...

The Detroit Pistons are currently tied with the Los Angeles Lakers -- for second worst in the league. Actually, you could argue that they are better than us if only looking at offensive statistics.

It is a crazy kind of world we are living in. The Pistons have lost six straight while the Bucks have won two straight, one of those against us on Tuesday. This is already the third meeting against the Bucks this season and the series is currently split at one a piece.

After beating the Pistons Tuesday evening, they then followed that up by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves by 17 points. The margin of victory for that game was only so large due to an amazing fourth quarter where they outscored the Timberwolves 31-16. It was also the first meeting of the top two draft picks from this year's draft class. While they both had statistically similar poor evenings, Andrew Wiggins got the upper hand on Jabari Parker.

The Pistons also had to play Wednesday but against a much stronger opponent - the Los Angeles Clippers. Though the Pistons gave it a good run in the fourth, they (again) fell short. With just under 2:40 left to go in the game, the Pistons had pulled to within two points. For the rest of the game the Pistons shot 1-for-5 (only one shot was a two pointer - two blocked) and made four free throws. This team just struggles to finish out late.

Players to Watch

Detroit: Andre Drummond

To begin this year, Andre Drummond has looked anything but Andre Drummond. However, on Tuesday, against the Bucks, Andre kind of had a flashback. He scored a season high 23 points on 15 shots, many of which were lobs and dunks. The Pistons used the blueprint of that game and did the same thing against the Clippers where Drummond had 17 points on 11 shots. Maybe that streak continues tonight.

Milwaukee: Brandon Knight

In the two meetings against the Pistons this year, Knight has shot 12-23 including 4-for-7 from distance. He has even held onto the ball rather well dishing out 17 assists opposite 7 turnovers. And by well I meant well for him. Knight is having a career year and many of us Pistons fans are just wondering when he is going to come back to Earth. That may have been against the Timberwolves where he shot 3-for-11 and only had two assists against two turnovers.

When we last met...

Well it was not that long ago. Just this past Tuesday, the Bucks handed the Pistons a 12-point loss. To start the game it looked like the Pistons were going to break their four game losing streak winning the first quarter 31-26. Then they lost the next quarter by six, the third quarter by 11, and tied in the fourth quarter. Well hey, at least we didn't lose the fourth quarter. Drummond led the Pistons in points with 23 and tied with Josh Smith for the lead in rebounds with 10. The Bucks were lead by Brandon Knight who had 20 points (on 12 shots) to go with eight assists opposite two turnovers.

Starting Lineups

Detroit: Augustin, Caldwell-Pope, Smith, Monroe, Drummond

Milwaukee: Knight, Mayo, Antentokounmpo, Parker, Sanders

Injuries

Detroit: Meeks (back), Jennings (thumb)

Milwaukee: Pachulia (funeral)

Prediction

Detroit wins 95-90

Communal Question

Does Drummond continue his beasting ways?
