KCP removed himself from previous game with sore right Achilles.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is good to go tonight against the Denver Nuggets after sitting most of the Pistons' previous game against the Indiana Pacers. Caldwell-Pope suffered a right Achilles injury against the Miami Heat but was able to tough it out for the remainder of the contest. Against the Pacers, however, he asked out of the game just a few minutes in.

At the time KCP said the injury wasn't serious but that he wanted to be safe.

"I wanted to come back, but just to be on the safe side I just sat the game out," Caldwell-Pope said. "I didn't want to keep injuring it. It's not going to be long. Do treatments tomorrow and see how it feels Friday."

Head coach Stan Van Gundy gave his defensive shooting guard a clean bill of health, according to Pistons.com writer Keith Langlois.

With Brandon Jennings already sidelined for the year the Pistons, fighting to claw their way back into the playoff picture in the East, can't afford another injury to a perimeter player. Especially KCP, who is Detroit's lone source of superior perimeter defense.

Without Caldwell-Pope on the floor, the Pistons allowed Indiana to shoot 72.2 percent from the floor in the second half and gave up 66 points.
